Christina Applegate (51) has made her first appearance at an awards ceremony since her MS diagnosis. According to US media reports, the actress did not walk the red carpet at the Critics' Choice Awards 2023 at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, but she posed for photographers backstage. Applegate, who was leaning on a cane, was accompanied to the show by her 11-year-old daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble.

The 51-year-old was at the Critics' Choice Awards for her performance in the Netflix series 'Dead to Me' Nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. In the end, the prize went to Jean Smart (71, 'Hacks').

Applegate, who rose to fame in the '80s sitcom Awfully Nice Family, looked dapper at the awards ceremony. She wore a black suit and combined it with black platform boots. She complemented her outfit with an eye-catching silver necklace with a moon-shaped pendant and a pearl bracelet. Her blond hair fell from the middle parting over her shoulders.

She was so nervous

Ahead of the event, Applegate revealed on Twitter that she's nervous. She wrote, 'So this Sunday will be the first awards show I've attended since 2019. And the first since MS. Nervous! But thanks to @CriticsChoice for having me there.' The actress announced in August 2021 that she had multiple sclerosis.

In a conversation with the 'New York Times' in November, Christina Applegate spoke about the illness expressed . 'I will never accept that,' she said at the time. 'I'm pissed.' After receiving the diagnosis, filming of the third season of Dead to Me, in which Applegate co-stars, took a five-month hiatus from filming.
