From model to chef

Model, photographer, cook: Although he is only in his early 20s, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham (23) has already taken many career steps. He is currently advertising for the fourth time as a testimonial for the London jeans label Pepe Jeans, this time together with the actress Daisy Jelley and the model Sarah Lysander. The photos for the 'Caught On Camera' campaign were taken in the library of one of London's oldest hotels. For the 2022 autumn and winter collection, Brooklyn was able to imagine what it would be like to slip into the historic building very quietly and secretly, let off steam there and then just as unnoticed disappear back onto the streets of the British capital.

Brooklyn follows his passion

At the moment, Brooklyn only practices the modeling profession on the side. The eldest son of Victoria (48) and David Beckham (47) prefers to follow his calling as a chef. Professionally, he fully lives out his enthusiasm for good food. Among other things, his series 'Cookin' with Brooklyn' has been available on Facebook Watch since December 2021. As part of the online format, he visits the hottest chefs in America to learn from them and then to implement his knowledge himself in the kitchen together with prominent guests.

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham revealed just a few weeks ago in a detailed interview with the US magazine 'Variety' that he discovered cooking during the corona pandemic. He taught himself how to cook: 'Since the quarantine I've been doing it every day and it's the only activity that distracts me from everything I'm thinking about.' He describes himself as a '100% autodidact'. One of his biggest dreams at the moment is to open his own pub in Los Angeles. 'But not as a chef - I'll never stop learning how to cook.'

Born in London, he now lives in the USA with his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham (27), but the vibe of the British capital hasn't let go of him there either. He misses the pub culture in Los Angeles, as he also confessed to 'Variety'. That's where the dream of owning your own restaurant comes from. 'I'm so excited to be the first Peltz Beckham to cook. The first in my family to do it.'

He dares to try new things

As a child, he wanted to follow in his father David Beckham's footsteps. Until 2015 he played football in the youth team of Arsenal FC. When he did not get a scholarship from the club to stay in the academy, he gave up his sports career. Instead, the first jobs as a model for brands and magazines gradually arose.

At 16, Brooklyn was allowed to photograph his first campaign himself. The client: the traditional British fashion house Burberry. This was followed by studying photography at a renowned design school in New York, publishing his own photo book entitled 'What I See' and doing an internship with the British star photographer Rankin (56) in 2019.

In the meantime, photography has turned from a career wish into a hobby again, according to the 23-year-old, who says of himself that he found out late what he really wanted to do. Now Brooklyn Peltz Beckham seems to have found his true calling in cooking.
