The divorce is over! Seal just before Christmas Mats (34) and Cathy Hummels (34) an important step: The former celebrity dream couple has officially drawn a line under their marriage. When RTL met her in Munich in mid-December, the presenter already knew that she would start the year 2023 as a divorced woman. A situation that Cathy never wanted, as she tells us in the video.

In your RTLZWEI documentary 'Cathy Hummels - Everything at the beginning' Cathy Hummels was open for the first time in November about the split from Mats Hummels spoken. There was also talk of divorce at the time. On December 19, the time had come: The Hummels marriage was officially ended in the Munich district court.

'We look back and remember our time together as a couple. Now we are divorced but optimistic about a future together as parents and friends. After that we had a coffee together, ”writes Cathy on Instagram about two snapshots with Mats.

'We had a lot of ups and downs, but we are also aware that our son and both of us are better off if we treat each other with respect,' said the presenter, addressing touching words directly to her ex-husband: 'Thank you for you as a person.” A new phase of life is now beginning for the 34-year-old. She said goodbye to Germany for two months.

They stick together for little son Ludwig

Cathy and Mats Hummels met and fell in love in 2007. In June 2015 they said yes. Two years later - in July 2017 - Cathy announced that a baby was on the way. Son Ludwig saw the light of day in January 2018. For him, the two will continue to pull together in the future - despite the marriage.
