Cressida Bonas named her son after her brother-in-law James

According to the Daily Mail, Cressida Bonas' son will be named Wilbur James. The middle name 'James' should be a homage to Cressida's deceased brother-in-law James. Her husband's brother Harry Wentworth-Stanley took his own life in 2006 at the age of 21.

In 2022, Bonas described in a Daily Mail article how much James' suicide had changed the lives of her husband's family. He said he never showed any obvious signs of depression or mental illness as a child and was 'funny, athletic, friendly and popular'. After a minor operation, he developed anxiety and suicidal thoughts. Ten days later he took his own life.

Vowing to save other young men from similar tragedies, his family founded the charity James' Place, which provides support, counseling and individual therapy to men in suicidal crises. The first center was opened in 2018 by Prince William opened in Liverpool.
