2018, just days before the big and headline-grabbing wedding of Prinz Harry (38 ) and his beloved Meghan (41) , a rumor circulated that Meghan made her sister-in-law Kate (41) cry target. The trigger: the bridesmaids' dresses. However, Prince Harry claims that it was the other way around back then. Meghan is said to have shed tears because of Kate. Now tailor Ajay Mirpuri, who had to sew the clothes back then, speaks up.

'All the clothes need to be redone'

In his book 'Spare' (German: 'Reserve') Prince Harry claims that the dispute at the time about the bridesmaid dresses for his wedding Duchess Meghan not from this, but from his sister-in-law Kate . Accordingly, this is said to have complained that the dresses of the bridesmaids – to them too her daughter Charlotte (7) belonged – “too big, too long, too wide”. Kate is said to have insisted that not only her daughter's dress but all bridesmaids' dresses needed to be changed.

The tailor, Ajay Mirpuri, who was on hand at the palace for requests for alterations, is said to have sat with a three-man team for three days until four in the morning sewing the clothes. So a lot of time he spent in the palace. Of course, one wonders what he says about the alleged dispute between the sisters-in-law, he must have noticed it ... right? In a statement, however, the renowned tailor now reveals: 'If there was a dispute between the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex over the bridesmaid dresses, I did not see it.'

Subsequent changes not surprising

He continues: 'Any wedding, no matter the level, is always stressful - especially in the days leading up to it - and this one was no different. But everyone was very friendly, very cooperative and it was an honor to work there.” Mr. Mirpuri also confirms that all the dresses – which, like the wedding dress, were custom-made by Givenchy – had to be altered afterwards. how Harry describes in the book 'Spare', the outfits were 'French couture and were sewn by hand purely according to measurements. The changes could therefore 'not surprise him too badly'.
