Isabell Horn talks about her depression

'You have everything in life. Tomorrow it will be better again!” It is sayings like these that Isabell Horn knows only too well. Then: depressions are still inaccessible to many people. The actress finds it all the more important that the disease is talked about and sets a good example. In the VIPstagram talk with Tanja Bülter and Kena Amoa, the 38-year-old tells us how she was able to free herself from mental illness.

Her mother took her by the hand

“I lost all zest for life at that time. I didn't even recognize myself anymore,” Isabell recalls of her depression. It was her mother who finally gave her the gentle but decisive nudge and made it clear: “You can get help. We're going to do it together now.' She then went to a therapist and started cognitive therapy. 'I was given a lot of tools,' says the mother of two. She has learned to be more aware of the early signs and to give herself permission to consciously take time out so that it doesn't come to that.

Isabell Horn wrote the book 'Does it stay like this now?' about her experiences. She also wants to encourage others who are affected.
