Services have been held here weekly since 1953, with the participation of mainly people from the art world. That is why funeral services for well-known artists are often held in the church.

Before the funeral, fans can say goodbye to the actress. The coffin of 'La Lollo', as Gina Lollobrigida was called in Italy, is laid out in a room in the Capitol. 'La Lollo' is considered a national shrine in Italy and was revered during her lifetime as 'Gina nazionale'. After studying sculpture and painting, she was drawn to film in the early 1950s. From an early age, she not only shot in Europe, but also in Hollywood, for example in 'Solomon and the Queen of Sheba'. In 1961, she was named Favorite International Actress at the Golden Globe Awards.

Gina was considered the 'most beautiful woman in the world', not only because she won the most important Italian film prize 'David di Donatello' in 1956 for a film of the same title. At the age of three she is said to have won a prize as the most beautiful child in Italy.

From the 1970s, she was rare in the film business. For this she gained attention as a photographer. Even later she devoted herself to politics, albeit without success. In 1999 she ran for the Italian Social Democrats in the European Parliament elections. Only last year, at the age of 95, she stood for a left-wing alliance in the parliamentary elections in Italy.

Big disappointment by her family

Despite her impressive life, the 95-year-old recently spent a rather sad old age in Italy . The reason for this was her own son Milko Skofic Jr. (65). This had left the actress incapacitated in old age. With the judgment that the Supreme Court in Italy passed in favor of the 65-year-old, it deprived Lollobrigida of her own financial freedom.
