Jana Ina Zarrella would send young offenders to prison

'Something like that makes me sad and angry,' writes Jana Ina Zarrella in her Instagram story and posts a screenshot of an article about the brutal beating attack. It is the responsibility of parents like her to teach children the right values, says the double Mom whose children are ten and 14.

But Jana Ina clearly sees the main culprit as being in the hands of the young perpetrators.”These 'children' should be [locked up]! If they're big enough to do that, then they're big enough to go to jail,' the 46-year-old says. In Germany, however, young people are only considered criminally responsible from the age of 14.

Judge Ulrich Wetzel explains in the RTL interview: 'Not of criminal responsibility means not punishable . That means there is no way to punish either. But of course there are other ways to influence children under the age of 14, but that is more in the area of family law and youth welfare offices.”
