The 34-year-old pop singer took to social media on Friday (06 January) to reveal that she is expecting a baby and is 'happy but scared' to share the news. She posted a video showing the positive pregnancy test and an ultrasound while playing her song 'Sunflower' in the background.
Jessie wrote on Instagram: 'So happy and scared to finally share this... Please be gentle with me. To be honest I just want to be able to cry ugly in public in a catsuit and eat a chocolate covered pickle without being asked any questions.'
Shortly thereafter, the congratulations piled up under the post. Pop star Pixie Lott was outraged: 'Omg Jesssssie super mom of the decade.' Former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland also wrote, 'AHHHHHHHHH SCREAMING CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!' And Paloma Faith wrote, 'Best news ever.'
The happy news for the 'Domino' hitmaker - who has yet to publicly confirm her relationship status but have been reported to have been dating basketball star Chanan Colman since 2022 - comes just over a year after she revealed online that she is close to 2021 lost a baby while performing in Los Angeles and decided to share the news because she felt so alone. She said at the time: 'I posted it because I had no one to break down with. I didn't have anyone to fall apart with and that's what I needed, that's what I wanted. I was alone, I had no one to advise me. My mom and sister weren't there to say, 'No, don't share this with the world, make it real for you first.' It wasn't the hardest part for me to do the show because the show actually was a strange trippy dream and I was thankful I wasn't alone and there were a lot of people I loved there.'
