If you influencer Katharina Wagener (27) with her one and a half year old son Leonardo , one does not get the idea that the 27-year-old is seriously ill. 'There were times when I really only ate one apple a day and drank broth for the rest of the week,' Kathi recalls. When she was 17 years old, disaster took its course after a radical diet. At that time, she physically deteriorated extremely within a year. Her parents have her forced into hospital several times. It's a matter of life and death, at times Kathi only weighs 23 kilograms! After a breakdown she suffers in front of her sister, she eventually takes up the fight against the disease herself and starts eating again.

Kathi's view of life changes when her child is born

Nevertheless, the eating disorder continues to determine her everyday life. Kathi only eats alone and no later than 8 p.m. A challenge too for her partner Kevin Yanik, whom Kathi met and fell in love with while taking part in the 'Are You The One' dating format. However, the relationship between the two is marked by discussions and tears because Kathi does not want to do therapy for a long time.

Luckily that has now changed. A few months ago, the 27-year-old sought professional help, also out of love for her small family. In August 2021, son Leonardo will see the light of day. 'I've noticed that he's getting bigger and bigger, he's getting more and more and I don't want him to ask at some point: Mom, why don't you ever eat with me?' Kathi is certain today: 'The birth of my son gave me life saved.'
