Kim Kardashian is now the proud owner of a piece of jewelry once worn by Princess Diana (1961-1997). The 42-year-old bought the 'Attallah Cross' pendant - a cross studded with diamonds and amethysts - from the traditional auction house Sotheby's. Not the first piece of jewelry by a famous woman that Kim now calls her own.

Kardashian collects jewelry from 'iconic' women
The 'Attallah Cross' isn't the first piece of jewelry by a legendary style icon that Kim Kardashian has bought at auction. As reported by People magazine, the reality star is looking to expand his jewelry collection with pieces worn by 'strong, iconic women' who have 'inspired' Kim.
Kim laid the foundation for this special collection ten years ago. At an auction in 2011, she bought three bracelets from the extensive jewelery collection of Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011) for 65,000 US dollars (equivalent to around 60,000 euros).
Kim Kardashian wore a special lucky charm to her meeting with then US President Donald Trump (76) in April 2019: a watch from ex-First Lady Jacky Kennedy Onassis (1929-1994). She is said to have bought the piece, a simple gold Cartier watch with a black leather strap, an 18-karat gold dial and personal engraving, in 2017 at auction house Christie's for almost 380,000 US dollars (approx. 351,000 euros).

And Kardashian doesn't just like to bid on jewelry: in 2019 she gave her daughter North (9) an unusual Christmas present in the form of a jacket owned by Michael Jackson (1958-2009), which he had worn in 1997 for Liz Taylor's 65th birthday. Kim bought the piece for the equivalent of $60,000. She also owns Jackson's hat from the 'Smooth Criminal' music video.
In the same year, Kardashian also bought rings from music legend Elvis Presley (1935-1977) for her brother Rob (35): The two pieces cost her a total of 15,000 US dollars.

In 2021, Kardashian bought an outfit worn by Janet Jackson (56) in her music video for the song 'If' at auction, consisting of black pants and a top - for $ 25,000.
