Died at age 54

Lisa Marie Presley (1968-2023) died on Thursday (December 12) at the age of 54. Her mother Priscilla Presley (77) announced this in a statement. 'It is with a heavy heart that I have to share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has passed away,' the source said. Numerous stars have already commented on the death of music legend Elvis Presley's (1935-1977) only child.

Leah Remini and John Travolta say goodbye

For example, actress Leah Remini (52) is one of the celebrities who pay tribute to Lisa Marie Presley via Twitter. 'I'm heartbroken at the death of Lisa Marie Presley,' said the 'King of Queens' star. 'Lisa has not had an easy life as some might think. May she rest in peace and be with her son and father. My prayers are for her mother, Priscilla, and her three daughters, Riley, Finley and Harper.' Lisa Marie Presley's son Benjamin took his own life in 2020 at the age of 27. Like daughter Riley (33), he came from the marriage to musician Danny Keough (58). The couple were married from 1988 to 1994.

Actor John Travolta (68) was shocked by the death of Lisa Marie Presley in a tweet: 'Lisa, my little girl, I'm so sorry. I will miss you, but I know that I will see you again. My love and my heart goes out to Riley, Priscilla, Harper and Finley.' The twin daughters Harper and Finley (both 14) are from their fourth marriage to Michael Lockwood (61), which lasted from 2006 to 2016.

The wife of Hollywood star Tom Hanks (66), Rita Wilson (66), said goodbye via Instagram: 'The sudden and shocking death of Lisa Marie Presley tonight breaks our hearts.' She and her husband would have spent some family time during the Elvis film promotion tour. 'Lisa Marie was so honest and direct, vulnerable, in a state of anticipation for the film.' Tom Hanks starred alongside Austin Butler (31) in the biopic 'Elvis'. 'Our hearts and prayers are with Riley, Harper, Finley, Danny and Priscilla. A mother should never have to lose a child.'

Linda Thompson (72), Elvis Presley's ex-girlfriend, posted a childhood photo of Lisa Marie Presley with her father on Instagram and captioned it 'My heart is too heavy for words...' Actress Octavia Spencer (52) described the deceased in a tweet as 'another shining star' who has passed away and sent 'my condolences to her loved ones and her multitude of fans'.

'Heartbreak' with the music stars

'There's heartbreak and there's heartbreak,' tweeted Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, 55, alongside a picture shared with Lisa Marie Presley. The two collaborated on the song 'Savior' in 2003. 'Please send your prayers for her family and children at this difficult time. I really cannot find words to express how sad this is.'

Country singer LeAnn Rimes, 40, tweeted, 'Lisa Marie Presley... how heartbreaking. I hope she's found peace in her father's arms.' Her heart beats for Presley's family. 'My deepest thoughts and condolences go out to the family/friends on the loss of Lisa Presley,' singer Bret Michaels (59) tweeted.

'Oh, that hurts my heart,' said singer Pink (43) for a joint photo on Instagram. 'Lisa Marie, you were unique. Funny as a pig, smart [...], sensitive, talented, funny, mean, loving, generous, judgmental, but always sincere, loyal, and you loved your children.' The world lost a jewel today. 'May your soul rest in peace,' the post continues.

'So sad about Lisa Marie Presley. Oddly enough I was at Graceland just yesterday and took this picture,' actress Jennifer Tilly, 64, tweeted alongside a picture of a gravestone. New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (78) also spoke up: 'Our prayers are with the family [of] Lisa Marie Presley. May God give her soul rest and comfort to her family.'

Tragic ending

Lisa Marie Presley was hospitalized Thursday morning for a possible cardiac arrest. A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed to US magazine People that paramedics came to the 5900 apartment block on Normandy Drive in Calabasas, California, to treat a woman in her 50s who was not breathing.

When they arrived, paramedics began CPR and, noting the patient had 'signs of life,' they took the woman to a local hospital for 'immediate medical attention.' On January 10, Lisa Marie Presley attended the Golden Globe Awards with her mother Priscilla.
