Lisa Marie Presley: Last words on the net sound like a farewell

She shared an article she wrote for People for National Grief Awareness Day entitled 'Lisa Marie Presley says she was devastated after son Benjamin died but is moving on for her girls'.

Lisa Marie wrote to her fans: 'Hi. In honor of National Grief Awareness Day, I wrote an article about grief that was posted by People. I thought I'd post it here in the hopes that anyone who needs to hear it might find some help in it.” She added what she learned in the aftermath of her son's suicide. 'It's not a pleasant topic for anyone, but if we're going to make any progress on this, grief needs to be discussed. Death is part of life whether we like it or not - and so is grief. Grief doesn't just stop or just go away after a year or years after the loss. Grief is something that we carry with us for the rest of our lives, despite what some people and our culture would like us to believe. You don't get over it, you don't just move on, period.”

Lisa Marie also admitted that she holds herself responsible for the death of her child, but she called on people to turn to others for support and comfort after such tragedies. Her mother Priscilla said after her death: 'It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has passed away. She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thanks for the love and prayers. There will be no further comment at this time.”
