'Lord of the Dance' creator Michael Flatley 'has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer'

Michael Flatley has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. He underwent surgery and is being cared for by an excellent team of doctors. No further comments will be made at this time. Michael Flatley had skin cancer in 2003

The Riverdance star battled skin cancer back in 2003 after a fan spotted the early warning signs during a TV appearance. However, he did not go public with this message until 2021. Overjoyed to have survived skin cancer at the time, he told the 'Sunday Independent' two years ago: 'So many people around me had cancer and so many people I know died from it.”

At the time, he said of his own diagnosis: 'I was diagnosed with skin cancer myself and it was a very scary time.' And further: 'I feel for everyone who lies on this bed and faces the uncertainty of the future. It can be a scary place.” (rsc)
