Paramount Pictures has released another trailer for the upcoming horror sequel 'Scream 6' - which should increase the anticipation of the cinema release on March 9, 2023. The returnees Hayden Panettiere (33), who already took part in the fourth part of the film series in 2011, can be seen for the first time.
For the first time in the 'Scream' storyline, Ghostface rampages through the streets of New York City. Panettiere slips into her old role of Kirby Reed and reunites with Gale Weathers-Riley, played by Courteney Cox (58), with whom she was also seen in part four. Alongside 'Wednesday' star Jenna Ortega (20) and Melissa Barrera (32), who mimic the half-sisters Tara and Sam, they take on the bloodthirsty killer under the masked face.'This Ghostface is not like the others'
After surviving Ghostface's recent killing spree, Tara and Sam and twins Chad (Mason Gooding, 26) and Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown, 28) leave their hometown of Woodsboro to start a new life in New York City. But even in the 'Big Apple' they can't find peace from Ghostface.
Kirby and Gale could be of great help to the sisters, after all they already have experience with the masked killer. 'We have a history together,' Kirby explains in the new trailer, looking at Gale after meeting Tara and Sam. However, Kirby is also certain: 'This Ghostface is not like the others.' Fans can see how the fight ends in German cinemas from March 9th.
Brand new in 'Scream 6' are Samara Weaving ('Ready or Not', 30), Tony Revolori ('Spider-Man: No Way Home', 26) and Jack Champion ('Avatar: The Way of Water') . Part six of the horror series is directed - as with 'Scream' - by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin (44) and Tyler Gillett (40) from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (47) and Guy Busick.
