Prince Harry has recalled her years of service, her 'good advice' and her 'contagious smile' after Queen Elizabeth II's death.

The Duke of Sussex, who has children Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 15 months, with his wife Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, has given birth to his late grandmother following her death last Thursday (September 8) aged 96 paid a lengthy tribute in which he revealed he would always 'cherish' his memories of her.

In a statement posted to his and Meghan's Archewell website, which includes a photo of Harry and the late Queen, Harry wrote: 'Celebrating the life of my grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, and around As we mourn her loss, we are all reminded that for so many she was the guiding compass in their commitment to service and duty. She was admired and respected worldwide. She remained true to her unwavering grace and dignity throughout her life, which is now her eternal legacy. Let's reiterate the words she spoke after the death of her husband, Prince Philip, words that can bring us comfort now: 'Life, of course, consists of final goodbyes as well as first encounters.' Although we are deeply saddened by this final farewell, I will forever be grateful for our first encounters - from my earliest childhood memories of you, to when I first met you as my Commander-in-Chief [...], to the moment you mine met your beloved wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren.' The prince added, 'And in terms of first encounters, we now honor my father in his new role as King Charles III.'
