Prince Harry: The triumph of his revelation book continues

Prince Harry's (38) sensational memoir 'Spare' (German title 'Reserve'), in which he reports on his drug use, his sex life and his arguments with members of the royal family, was already on sale on the first day of sale in the USA, Great Britain and Canada 1.4 million sold. This number therefore includes all formats and editions, including e-books and printed editions.
Specifically, the publisher said, according to People magazine: 'Penguin Random House announced today that the English-language edition of 'Spare', the memoir of Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, will be available on the first day of publication, Tuesday, March 10. January 2023, has sold more than 1,430,000 million units in all formats and editions in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.'
According to the publisher, the book broke all records for first full day sales of non-fiction books ever set, reports The Bookseller. 'Spare' even overtook Barack Obama's (61) presidential memoir 'A Promised Land' (2020), which previously held the record.
Impressive sales figuresThe sales numbers are all the more impressive given that most of the revelations in the book - including a physical altercation with older brother Prince William, 40, Harry's loss of virginity and details about his cocaine and magic mushroom use - have already made headlines around the world after booksellers in Spain broke the strict embargo and started selling 'Spare' on Thursday (January 5) to capitalize on the rush ahead of a local bank holiday.
'Spare' ('Reserve') was released simultaneously in 16 languages worldwide on January 10th. On the German publisher's website, 'Reserve' has so far been listed under 'New Releases', but the book has not yet been listed under 'Best Sellers'.
