January 20, 2023: Prince William and Kate fall in popularity

By publishing Prince Harry's Book 'Reserve' there seems to be only losers in the British royal family. Public approval ratings for all royals have fallen since last December, according to a poll by Ipsos Mori. Above all Prince William (41) and Princess Kate (41) have to cope with big losses.

While heir to the throne William remains the most popular member of the royal family with a positive rating of 61 percent, he lost the most support with 8 percentage points. His wife Kate follows in second place, but she also slipped 7 percentage points in popularity and now has to share second place with Princess Anne.

The originator of the scandal also lost seven percentage points: Prince Harry. Less than a quarter of respondents say they have a 'positive' opinion of Harry.

Prince Harry also lashed out at his older brother William in his memoir. For example, Harry reported a physical attack on him.

January 19, 2023 Prince William's cousin Ellen Lascelles marries a woman

The next wedding is coming up for the British Royals! Prinz Williams (40) Cousin Ellen Lascelles is engaged to her friend Channtel McPherson. 'I'm still floating on a cloud of love (...). On New Year's Day, Chan asked me to marry her and turned an incredible 2022 into an even more incredible 2023,' the bride-to-be wrote on her Instagram account. The two women have been living together in Australia for several years. The newly engaged has not revealed whether the wedding will also take place there.

Although Ellen Lascelles with the British royal family is related, her name should be known to very few. The 38-year-old is William's third cousin. Her grandfather, George Lascelles, was a descendant of Princess Mary (1897-1965), whose father was King George V (1865-1936). Ellen is 74th in line to the British throne.

William will surely be happy for his cousin. The eldest son of King Charles (74) has supported gay rights for years.

January 18, 2023: Concern for George & Charlotte: Princess Anne's dog suddenly bites

It could have turned out very differently. Supposed to be on the edge of a pheasant hunt in the grounds of Sandringham Castle Princess Annes (72) bull terrier attacked another dog and almost killed him, reports the 'Daily Mail'. Those present are said to have reported a bloody biting. It was difficult to separate the dogs because Anne's terrier bit so deeply into the flesh of the other dog.

'There was a lot of blood and a lot of screaming,' a witness to the incident told the British newspaper. Fortunately, the attacked dog survived, but the atmosphere was 'very tense' afterwards. It is still unclear whether the incident will have legal consequences for Princess Anne. According to the 'Daily Mail', the princess's dogs were said to have snapped before and attacked employees, but also the Queen's corgis. Anne's Terrier Dotty attacked two boys in Windsor Great Park in 2002. The princess was then fined £500 (approx. €570).

The attack, which seemed to come out of nowhere, is said to have caused great concern for the little royals among many in attendance. 'What if it was Charlotte, George, or one of the other kids?'
