It looks like the royal family has had a long time to get along the death of Queen Elizabeth II (1926 – 2022) to prepare, but for her grandson William the news came rather suddenly. The new Prince of Wales said this during a public visit to a mourning site in front of Sandringham House in Norfolk. On this occasion he also spoke about the deja vu at the death of his mother Lady Diana, which overtook him a few days ago at the funeral march for the Queen.

What Prince William felt during the funeral march for the Queen

Prince William said it was 'challenging' for him to walk behind his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II's hearse. The new Prince of Wales lined up behind the coffin of the deceased in a procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall on Wednesday afternoon (September 14, 2022). To everyone's surprise, his brother Prince Harry, with whom he has been at odds for months, ran right next to him . A moment that reminded William of his mother's death 25 years ago.

The images had gone around the world as the two brothers accompanied her coffin side by side and with bowed heads at the funeral. Princess Diana's funeral took place in September 1997 when Prince William was a teenager. His mother died in a car accident in Paris.
