It's a moment to focus on Charles prepared all his life, and yet it seems incomprehensible that he has now come. The 73-year-old is no longer heir to the throne, but the new British king. In its first television speech as a monarch, Charles did not think only of himself deceased mother , Queen Elizabeth (96) , but also dedicated to his two children Prince William (40) and Prinz Harry (37) warm words. Above all, the conciliatory message to his youngest son surprised many royal fans.

'I also want to express my love for Harry and Meghan'

King Charles has no time to mourn. Just a day after the death of his mother he returned to London from Scotland and served as the new head of the British royal family his first public speech, which was broadcast on British TV on Friday evening (9 September). Charles promised his subjects that he would put his life in the service of the people. 'This is also a time of change for my family,' he continued, before highlighting the roles of his loved ones.

After the king made a declaration of love to his wife Camilla (75) and proudly named Prince William 'Prince of Wales', he finally spoke about Prince Harry and his wife Duchess Meghan. 'I also want to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build lives overseas,' the 73-year-old said in a mild and loving voice. With that short sentence, Charles made it clear that royal dropout couple still belongs to the family with his children – despite everything that has happened in recent years. (tma)
